The authors of this book are Ben Schifrin, Ruby Johnson Jenkins and Jeffrey P. Schaffer. Formerly described in the California volume in a 2-book series (the other volume covering the Oregon-Washington part of the trail), the southern California section of the trail (from Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park, south to the Mexican border) now has its own volume.
